Impact Project
Werlley’s project aims to introduce and expand the use of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) technology in the northern region of Brazil, specifically in the states of Amazonas and Amapá. The primary objectives include presenting POCUS applications, training local health professionals, and developing local leaders and instructors. Secondary objectives focus on creating an advanced education hub for remote healthcare support through telemedicine and tele-teaching tools. The project will be implemented in remote municipalities of Brazil’s northern region, targeting populations in rural and forest areas. The selection of this project is supported by the vast geographical expanse of the region and the lack of access to healthcare technologies like POCUS.
By spreading POCUS use in major universities of the North Region, the project aims to improve basic healthcare, enhance diagnostic capabilities, aid in emergency care screening, and improve disease treatment. The ultimate goal is to ensure comprehensive patient health monitoring and conduct studies on the health conditions of these populations to transform their quality of life.
