Mindia Mgeladze
Mindia is a resident doctor in Anesthesia and Intensive Care. He works primarily in ICU, Critical Care and Anesthesia. He has a particular interest in expanding the use of POCUS throughout Georgia in order to improve diagnostic accuracy for all clinicians.
Impact Project
Mindia’s project covers the creation of a Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) study center in Tbilisi, Georgia. The program aims to train intensivists, anesthesiologists, emergency, and critical care physicians in POCUS techniques through a comprehensive curriculum including general lectures, intensive training sessions, practical experience with moulages and real patients, and preparation for international certification. The project will be implemented at New Hospitals, a 285-bed multi-profile clinic, with potential expansion to other regions and neighboring countries. The project aims to improve patient care by increasing POCUS proficiency among medical practitioners. Success will be measured through pre- and post-training assessments, as well as tracking the implementation of POCUS in participants’ medical practices.
