James Ferrie
James Ferrie is an Australian podiatrist with interests in regenerative medicine and sonography. With the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation, he completed post-graduate training for ultrasound and fluoroscopy-guided foot and ankle orthobiologic procedures. James is also certified in lower extremity musculoskeletal point-of-care ultrasound and serves as a specialist instructor for the Swiss DolorClast® ESWT.
Impact Project
James’s project focuses on developing a Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Foot and Ankle Certificate, in collaboration with experts from the POCUS Certification Academy. The initiative aims to create a comprehensive certification program for podiatrists and clinicians worldwide who use ultrasound to assess foot and ankle pathologies. Working with 5-7 volunteer subject matter experts, the team will develop content, establish prerequisites, and design assessment criteria for the certificate. The project, set to launch in Fall 2021, will involve template development, case creation, and programmatic input from clinical experts. With a focus on long-term sustainability and scalability, this certificate program has the potential to standardize and enhance POCUS skills in foot and ankle diagnostics globally, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes in this specialized field.
