Impact Project
Hasting’s project aims to enhance the ultrasound skills of healthcare professionals at KCH through specialized training in general abdominal Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and ultrasound-guided procedures.
The program is tailored for two distinct groups: general radiographers, focusing on abdominal organ sonography and common pathologies, and critical care point workers (doctors and nurses from ICU, Trauma and Emergency Department, and HDUs), concentrating on abdominal trauma POCUS and ultrasound-guided fluid tapping.
The training will combine theoretical lessons with practical hands-on experience, covering topics such as sonographic anatomy, identification of trauma-related conditions, and techniques for diagnostic and therapeutic fluid tapping. Upon completion, participants will be equipped with advanced skills in ultrasound-based diagnosis and interventions, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes in critical care settings.
